Alfred Ebeling

1970, after High School, started with Klöckner & Co., Duisburg, and studied business management and national & international trade. After his studies became responsible for Noble Alloys and Metals. In close cooperation with CBMM successfully developed the Ferro-Niobium market and made Klöckner the most important partner of the Brazilians.

1981, was hired by H.C. Starck Berlin, Düsseldorf, Goslar and Laufenburg, and went through an intensive metallurgical training concerning Niobium, Tungsten, Molybdenum, Tantalum, Vanadium and Manganese.

1983, accepted an offer to join FLG Metallurgie GmbH, Düsseldorf, belonged to the SKW group of companies and Samancor. Became responsible for the SKW group companies AffivalS.A., Solesmes, France, and Murex Ltd., Rainhaim, UK. With the technical management of Murex and in close cooperation with Cambior, Montreal, Canada, organized the production of Ferro-Niobium in the UK made from Niobec`s Pyrochlore and its successful sales & marketing. With Affival developed the use of Ferro-Niobium in wire (cored wire) for the steel industry. The brand Niofil was dominating this market segment for many years.

In 1992, organized and headed the merger of FLG and Klöckner Legierungen, Duisburg, a branch of Klöckner & Co. AG.

In 1993, when restrictions made it extremely difficult to convert Pyrochlore into Ferro-Niobium in the EU, agreed a very close collaboration with Cambior on the development of a Ferro-Niobium production at Niobec, Chicoutimi, and a product-specific sales & marketing. Based on an exclusive Agency Agreement with Cambior/Niobec formed his own company Camet (Canadian Metal) Metallurgie GmbH, Düsseldorf. With his highly professional team made Niobec being the number two in the Frerro-Niobium world and number one concerning Ferro-Niobium in wire, creating marketing strategies also accepted and followed by the by far biggest producer CBMM (considered Camet its most “dangerous” competition). Based on an exclusive Agency Agreement for Germany, Austria and Denmark, made Affival being the number one in the said cored wire markets. Sold Niofil toll-converted with Bozel, Dunkerque, France, and Affival on a constant basis in nearly every quality orientated steel mill. After Cambior started to manage Linden Mining, Guyana, re-established and expanded their market acceptance and position for Bauxite in the EU.

In 2013, sold Camet Metallurgie GmbH to Niobec Inc. and left the company for other activities in 2015.
